Guidelines for Articles

All articles should be…

  • At least 800 words but ideally between 1,000-2,500 words.
  • Be unique and cannot be published anywhere else. It’s okay if you’ve written about this topic before but your article must be unique and can’t be the same as another article.
  • Must be related to travel and from a childfree perspective.
    • If you are not personally childfree, you should not mention your children in the article.
    • If you traveled with children, you should not mention those children in the article.
  • Include high-resolution photos (minimum 1200px wide). You must be the owner of the photos you upload or be able to provide us with information to credit the photo source.

We do not accept articles about the following topics:

  • Excessive profanity
  • Sex tourism
  • Illicit drugs
  • Participation in illegal activities
  • Companies or activities widely linked to animal abuse
After hiking towards the roaring ocean with no idea what was ahead of us, this view opened up before our eyes.

Writing Tips

  • Be authentic and write how you talk.
  • Write in short, simple sentences.
  • Break your article into multiple sections and have a title for each section.
  • Let’s be honest. If you are going to write, you want people to read it. An hour-by-hour diary (“Then we went here…”) of your 14-day trip will not be interesting to most travelers. Write in a way where the goal is to help someone plan their trip or inspire them for their next trip. Take a look at these headline examples for a concept that will work for your article.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to include an optional short bio (75 words or less) and up to 2 links to your website or social media accounts.
